Dr. Khadija Bari

Dr. Khadija Bari, Director of Population Research Centre (PRC) and Associate Professor, School of Economics and Social Sciences, IBA Karachi has previously served as Chairperson, Department of Economics and Finance, IBA Karachi for seven years. She received her PhD from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK and her areas of research are:

Dr. Asma Hyder
Dr. Asma Hyder

Dr. Asma Hyder, Professor and Dean, School of Economics and Social Sciences and Research Fellow PRC, IBA Karachi, received her PhD from the National University of Sciences and Technology, Pakistan and Sussex University. Her areas of research are:

Dr. Junaid Alam Memon
Dr. Junaid Alam Memon

Junaid Alam Memon is a Professor of Development Studies and Social Sciences and Research Fellow PRC, IBA Karachi. He has a PhD in Regional and Rural Development Planning from Asian Institute of Technology and a Fulbright Visiting Scholar fellowship from the Vincent and Elinor Ostrom Workshop in Political Theory and Policy Analysis from Indiana University Bloomington. His research revolves around society and natural resources nexus, particularly community based natural resources management in following:

  • Participatory Irrigation Management Reforms
  • Traditional Water Resources Management System
  • Population and Common Pool Resources Management
  • Institutional Analysis and Development & Socio-ecological System
Maria Hassan
Maria Hassan

Maria Hassan is an Assistant Professor and the Academic Director, AC Centre for Writing at IBA, Karachi. Her formal training is in Linguistics, with a focus on Sociolinguistics, Sociology of Language, and Critical Discourse Analysis. She has facilitated Population Council's annual conferences. She has published in academic journals and scholarly magazines in a range of Social Sciences fields and has presented in academic conferences. Her work on Karachi critically evaluates the demographic dynamics of city and its connection with regimes of violence and terror with the city.

Her research interests include Sociology, Linguistic and Cultural Anthropology, Policy, Language Documentation, and Critical Discourse Analysis.

Dr. Muhammad Nasir
Dr. Muhammad Nasir

Dr. Muhammad Nasir, Associate Professor, School of Economics and Social Sciences and Research Fellow PRC, IBA Karachi has research experience of more than 11 years in the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics and Pakistan Centre or Philanthropy. He received his PhD in Economics from Clark University, Massachusetts, USA. His areas of research areas are:

Dr. Lubna Naz

Dr. Lubna Naz, Assistant Professor, School of Economics and Social Sciences and Research Fellow PRC, IBA Karachi has been engaged in research with different institutes including UNWomen/ILO/Fao, Sandee/ICIMOD, De La Sall University. She received her PhD in Economics from the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE). Her areas of research are:
